Best Books-Christmas
There is something special about opening up a festive story book in the lead up to Christmas. Chrissy is such a magical time and keeping the magic alive for my children is a huge priority for me! My husband actually grew up as a Jehovahs Witness and didn’t celebrate Birthdays or Christmas at all! He now really embraces the holidays and has a ball learning about all the wonderful traditions we have! I grew up with the classic cheap chocolate count down to Christmas and there is something super nostalgic about that for sure (i still buy myself one every year). But for my own children i decided that books are more appropriate. There are a few brands jumping on the advent book bandwagon but they all seem to be tiny, cheap, almost “disposable” books and i haven’t been impressed. Instead, I’ve purchased 24 children’s Christmas story books, will wrap these up individually and my children can pick one a day to open in the lead up to the big day. I will pack them away with the Christmas tree each year and bring them back out in fresh wrapping every year, making them special and building the nostalgia. When Maisie has her first baby i will give her the bundle of books so that she can carry on the same tradition in her new family. It is an investment but will end up cheaper (and much better) than buying disposable advent calendars for the kids each year.

A Christmas Wish
A beautiful looking shiny gold book! It tells a gentle Christmassy tale based around the world of Peter Rabbit and his friends. It's Christmas Eve and Peter Rabbit and his sisters are excited, but Peter is worried too. They have all wished for a special present but Peter can't sleep, and he knows Father Christmas won't visit if he's still awake. As the hours drag by anxious Peter hears a little creak here, and a little bump there, so now he's even LESS likely to fall asleep. Poor Peter. Will his Christmas wish EVER come true?
Construction Site on Christmas Night
It's Christmas Eve, and the construction site is bustling with activity. But one by one, as they head to bed, the trucks find gifts waiting for them – for Crane, it's a new wrecking ball! For Dump Truck, it's a set of new tires! For Excavator, it's a shiny new scoop! Each truck gets a present that excites them and makes them feel appreciated on Christmas. But what have they been so busy building? It's the gift of a new fire station for the town's firetrucks! Themes in this book include friendship, hard work, and giving thanks.
I Spy Christmas
A search and find book. Perfect for quiet time! Can you find Santa and his elf, a sleigh, snowmen, silver bells and jingle bells, mittens, two turtledoves, candy canes, and the rest of the festive things hidden in the shiny ornaments, snowy landscapes, and colourful store windows? What is hidden in Santa's workshop? And what do you see under the Christmas tree?
The Things I Love About Christmas
Such a wholesome little book. If you love the ‘When I’m Feeling’ books you’ll love this one too! There are so many things to love about Christmas. Writing a letter to Santa, decorating the tree with lights and decorations, making special gifts, a yummy feast with family and friends and, of course, unwrapping presents.
Dear Santa
Similar to the original ‘Dear Zoo’ this sweet little lift the flap book is so much fun for little hands. Santa is looking for the perfect present to send to a special child. Lift the flaps to reveal a big kite, a bouncy ball, and a mask! But nothing seems quite right...until Christmas Eve, when Santa finds the perfect gift to leave under the tree.
A Tree for Christmas
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a Christmas tree, but when Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet set off to find the perfect tree in the Hundred Acre Wood they soon run into difficulties … But perhaps, with the help of their friends, they’ll be able to make this a Christmas to remember, after all.
